Public BBQ

A remarkable spot in the Pilliga, about 30 kilometres in off the highway, where a three-kilometre loop trail runs along the rim of Dandry Gorge and down to the creek, with sculptures placed all along the ridge. Each is different and tells its own story, with signs explaining how they were made. Taking the left path at the intersection makes for the easier walk. The track is extremely well kept and not too steep. A clean picnic area with sheltered tables, a water tank and good drop toilets sits at the start, and several large campsites are within walking distance. A national parks booking fee is the only charge. No pets. The road in is dirt and badly corrugated, fine for two-wheel drive unless it is wet. Bees swarm any exposed water, so keep the sink covered.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
